Camps - Volunteers Needed
American Cancer Society "Camp
Adventure"-
Camp Adventure is a fun-filled, week-long sleep away camp for
children with cancer and their siblings, ages six to 18.
Held each August on the beautiful shores of eastern Long
Island, Camp Adventure provides an opportunity for kids to
just be kids while receiving the medical attention they need
from pediatric oncology professionals. Volunteers needed
to create a one-to-one camper to staffer ratio as well as
donations and supplies to absorb the expense of the camp
experience.

Camp Sussex-
Camp Sussex provides opportunities for children of limited
financial means to leave the city during the summer to
experience a traditional summer camp environment.
Located in northwest New Jersey, Camp Sussex helps children

them to return as adults and give back to campers of the
present day. Camp Sussex currently has several projects
in need of assistance whether it be financial or through

To Volunteer for the above: Contact the person for
each event (9 am - 5 pm) & mention that you are from SFC.
Call early! - dates, locations, contacts and phone
numbers change.
Reminder: Most of the volunteer events are open to
the general public, so these are NOT "singles only"
opportunities. It is important to wear your SFC pins so
that our SFC buddies and other singles can find each other at
a volunteer event.
If you are unable to fulfill your
volunteering commitments:
We would appreciate all members and non-members notifying the
contact person for an event as early as possible.
Failure to do so is a negative reflection on Singles for
Charities. We take pride in our volunteers... and in our
reliability.
