Volunteering at the Retirement Home - Socializers needed to spend time with older cats and dogs who are accustomed to human contact.  Dogs can be walked and cats appreciate any time you can spend with them in large, open rooms. (Volunteers for the above must be at least 18 years old, and are required to participate in a training class.  For the first six months, they will need to commit to one hour per week of service.  Volunteers can come in any day of the week between 11 AM and 3 PM)

Event/Administrative Volunteers - Volunteers are needed for onsite and offsite events.  It is not necessary to be an Adoption Center volunteer to provide these services.  However, we do require Event Volunteers to be dedicated to any commitments made for events.

Pet Therapy Volunteers - Volunteers needed to visit nursing homes, assisted living facilities, hospitals and other facilities. We are looking for volunteers who have friendly, healthy, well-trained dogs or very agreeable cats, or other small animal to participate in the program.  An evaluation is given to determine if the animal would be a good match for this program.  Volunteers must be 21 years old or older and commit to one visit per month for one year.

To Volunteer for the above:
Contact the person for each event (9 am - 5 pm) & mention that you are from SFC.  Call early! - dates, locations, contacts and phone numbers change.

Reminder: Most of the volunteer events are open to the general public, so these are NOT "singles only" opportunities.  It is important to wear your SFC pins so that our SFC buddies and other singles can find each other at a volunteer event.

If you are unable to fulfill your volunteering commitments:
We would appreciate all members and non-members notifying the contact person for an event as early as possible.  Failure to do so is a negative reflection on Singles for Charities. We take pride in our volunteers... and in our reliability.
